Peach Bourbon Ghost Pepper BBQ Sauce

A very spicy peach BBQ sauce. Excellent when grilling chicken or pork.

  • 1.5 jars
  • 15 minutes
  • 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 ghost pepper, chopped
  • 2 TBSP peanut oil
  • 1 TBSP garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3 CUP bourbon
  • 1 TBSP prepared mustard
  • 1 CUP peaches, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 CUP brown sugar
  • 1/4 CUP tomato puree
  • 3 TSBP cidar vinegar
  • 1 TSBP pepper, freshly ground

Directions

  1. caramelize onion in peanut oil in a dutch oven or large pot
  2. add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring often
  3. simmer for 25 minutes to break down the peaches
  4. use immersion blender to blend sauce
  5. fill one jar and seal it, and put the remainder in a jar in your fridge
