Habanero Hash Browns

A very spicy breakfast hash brown. Really wakes you up!

  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 1 habanero, finely chopped
  • 3 CLOVES garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 TBSP peanut oil
  • 1 TBSP butter
  • 2 CUP frozen hash browns


  1. caramelize onion in peanut oil in a large frying pan
  2. add butter, let it melt, and add hash browns
  3. fry for several minutes until the hash browns are almost fully defrosted
  4. add garlic and habanero, seasoning salt and pepper and other spices to taste (garlic and onion powder are excellent here)
  5. fry hash browns until they’re crispy
